NES #1 starts off a series of electromechanical steel sculptures, which primarily consists of colourful and playful works. The work presents the viewer with rotating shapes that become intertwined with one another.
NES #1 started out as hundreds of hand-drawn shapes which the artist produced as part of the work’s creation process. Some of these shapes were transformed into 2D models, and then turned into a physical form by laser cutting steel plates. Nevertheless, all the shapes still have a human element to them.
